Win L. Burns

Edwin (Ed) L. Burns, age 85, was born in Hodge, Louisiana, on January 10, 1927 and went to Heaven on November 23, 2012. Services are being handled by Forest Park Funeral Home of Shreveport. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 30, 2012, in the Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 Saint Vincent Ave, Shreveport, LA 71103-4563. He lived in Houston, TX for the last 52 years. He had Alzheimer's and bladder cancer, but never let either one slow him down. He was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, the love of his life - Ruby Lee Wilson Burns, and his daughter, Ovey Janiece Burns. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Lee Ann Folk and husband Jerry of Deer Park, TX; grandchildren, Misty Gill, and David Haygood and wife Amanda; six great-grandchildren, and best friend, Nita Nell Watson of San Marcos, TX. Mr. Burns proudly served his country as part of the U S Army. He had special memories of playing football at Ruston High School, where a fellow player nicknamed him ""Wildcat"".
