Vernon Bailey

Vernon Dale Bailey passed from this life Monday, May 22, 2017, at Pierremont Health Care in Shreveport, LA. He was 61 years old. Vernon was born in Exeter, CA, on September 6, 1955, to the late Edward Earl & Doris Stokes Bailey. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mende Moehring Bailey. Survivors include a daughter, Amy E. Bailey, of Pelahatchie (Vicksburg), MS; four grandchildren, Morgan Boyd, Madeline McFadden, Lennon McFadden and Audrey McFadden; a brother Paul and wife Debra Bailey of Shafter, CA; a devoted cousin, Susan Bailey; and many other relatives. Vernon leaves many loving friends, many he played music with while in the bands Stumble Biscuit and Ghost Town Winds. Vernon was an auto mechanic and paint and body technician. He was also a truck driver for several years. Vernon was very gifted and had a true passion for music. He played the guitar effortlessly and wrote many songs. His strong voice will be remembered by those who heard him sing and through his recordings. His quick wit, positive outlook and attitude, and contagious laugh will be sorely missed. Memorial services for Vernon will be announced at a later date.
