On February 11, 2017, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Sherry Campell Sanders passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was born May 25, 1950 in Shreveport, La. She was a proud graduate of Fair Park High School , class of 1968. Sherry had a passion for antiques, any and all kinds. Her favorite antique being her husband of 24 years, Sonny. Sherry also had an intense love of Mardi Gras. The colors, the beads, the atmosphere and the celebration. She worked at Mardi Gras Madness for many years, which gave her a keen insight in to what was happening with all the Krewe's in the area. Sherry was most recently employed with the Caddo Registrar of Voters. Everyone who worked with Sherry loved her. She was a hard worker who loved her job. She had no qualms to tell anyone to ""Go Vote!"" Sherry enjoyed her monthly 'Pow Wows' with her fellow Fair Park alums. She loved visiting with friends, old and new alike. She loved people and people loved Sherry. Sherry was a very loving and giving lady. Ask her for a candy bar, she brought you a whole bag, ask for a small glass of something to drink and she gave you a gallon. She always wanted to make sure you had what you wanted, plus a little extra. Sherry loved all her children, her own child, Jennifer Waxham and her husband Wayland , along with her step-children Taylor, Sunny and Sonia. To Taylor, Sunny and Sonia, Sherry was their other mother. They loved her dearly. Sherry was preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer Mullins Waxham, her mother and father, Ruby Lee Knight Campbell and Benjamin Franklin Campbell and her sister Gwen Campbell. Survivors include her husband, Taylor W. ""Sonny"" Sanders lll, Taylor W. Sanders lV and wife Melissa of Lake Charles, La. and daughters Sunny Rey of Auburn California and Sonia Sanders of Phoenix, Arizona. Grandchildren, Jimmy Rey and wife Janessa, Taylor Cox and Hazel Sanders. Great grand child Tessie Dawn Rey and son-in-law Wayland Waxham of Shreveport, La. Sherry will forever be loved and her strength will live on in us. We are all lucky to have known and loved Sherry. Quoting Sherry's favorite saying...GO VOTE!!
