Sarah Jean Bechtel

Sarah Jean Bechtel, born on August 30, 1982, in Shreveport, LA, passed away on July 27, 2026, in Shreveport, LA. She was a dedicated and compassionate registered nurse, a career that reflected her caring nature and commitment to helping others.

Sarah graduated from Stanley High School and furthered her education at Remington College, where she pursued her passion for nursing. Her professional life was marked by her dedication to her patients and her constant strive for excellence in the healthcare field.

She is survived by her loving children, Emily Lagars, Miranda Harrison, Cody Lagars, Connor Lagars, and Jodi Bechtel. Sarah also leaves behind her siblings, Patrick McKim and his wife Michelle, Jessica Houston and her husband David, and Elizabeth Lockman and her husband Steven. She was a cherished niece to her aunts and uncles, David Straus, Darlene Berger, and Delbert McKim, and a beloved cousin to Michelle Harville, Stormy Harrison, Thomas Straus, Charlie Evans, and Jimmy Evans. Her nieces and nephews, Devan McKim, Ashleigh Sheilds, Baleigh McKim, Kyleigh McKim, William Sparrow, Ryan Walker, Anna Lockman, Dakota Walker, and Destiny Walker, will also hold her memory dear.

Sarah was preceded in death by her grandparents, David (Butch) Straus and Connie Straus; her nephew, Marcus Lockman; and her parents, Judy Rena Straus, Jim Lee McKim, and stepfather James Ryder.

A memorial service to celebrate Sarah's life will be held at 10:00 AM on August 8th, 2026, at Church on the Rock in Logansport, LA. Her life and legacy will be remembered by all who knew her as a kind-hearted individual who dedicated her life to the service of others.
