Sandra Kay Smith

Sandra Kay Smith, age 62, died on February 11, 2022, in her home with her sister after battling cancer. She was born on September 26, 1959, in Shreveport, LA, to James Melton Smith, Sr. and Mary Procell Smith. She lived in Shreveport and Bossier City, LA, and she attended Fair Park High School. Sandra worshiped at Bellaire Baptist Church in Bossier City. She loved watching movies, fixing hair, and caring for her customers. She had much love for the ladies at her shop as well as her best friend, Shelly. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert Smith, James Melton Smith, and Larry Smith; grandfather, Jessie Procell; and grandmother, Maggie V. She is survived by her son, Daniel (Kamalie) Smith; sister, Linda White; and her brother, Rickey Smith. Also missing her are her uncle, Raymond (Rachael) Procell; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her sweet dog, Abbie, is also in heaven with her. A Celebration of Sandra's Life will take place on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 10:00 am at Bellaire Baptist Church, 4330 Panther Dr. Bossier City, LA, with Rev. Michael Woodruff presenting. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude, American Cancer Society, Bellaire Baptist Church, Shriner's, or a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank Dr. Stevens and staff, all chemo nurses at Christus Cancer Center, and Christus hospice and nurses.
