Ruby Lee Campbell

Ruby Lee Campbell, 90, of Shreveport, passed away peacefully at Highland Place Rehab on January 24th 2017. She was a retired antique dealer, whose love and knowledge of the antique business was known and respected by many. She attended C.E. Byrd High School and after graduation, she was one of the many women who worked in the war industry during World War II. She was a strong no nonsense woman, who as part of the Greatest Generation, experienced the Great Depression and the ‘Big' War, and it shaped how she lived her life. Ruby was born June 13, 1926, in Shreveport. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Jettie Knight; husband, Benjamin Franklin Campbell Jr.; brother, Bobby Knight; daughter, Gwen Campbell; and granddaughter, Jennifer Alise Mullins-Waxham. She is survived by her daughter Sherry Sanders and husband Sonny, grandson James Brian Collier and great grandson Xander, and grandson-in-law Wayland Waxham. A Graveside Memorial Service for Mrs. Campbell will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 11, 2017, Greenwood Cemetery, 130 E. Stoner Ave., Shreveport, LA 71101.
