Born in 1945 in Shreveport to James and Bobbie Grant, Ronald graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1962. His career began as a journeyman ironworker until 1979, after which he dedicated his life to serving in the Louisiana Army National Guard. Joining in 1965, he proudly served our nation for 37 years, including 23 years of active duty. Following his military retirement, he devoted five years to the Youth Challenge program at Camp Minden.

Grant and Bobbie Grant, as well as his beloved wife, Sandra Cook. He is survived by his twin sister Sandra, who was 3 minutes younger than him and he never let her forget it; his son Jeremy Grant and wife Tina of Cypress, TX; his daughter Kristin Sanders and husband Daniel from Shreveport, LA; his nephew Will Petty of Corpus Christi; and nieces Beverly Petty of Lakewood, CO, and Wendy Sutton of Longview, TX. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by numerous first cousins across the country. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Grant, Glen Rhodes, Will Petty, Col Terry Hammett, Daniel Sanders, Ed Kline, and Kevin Dunn.
The family would like to thank the staff of WKN's 5th floor and Drs. Akbarian, Jones and Newell. Also, much gratitude and love to The Carpenter House for helping his transition to Heaven be as peaceful as it can be; Col Hammett, Tana Weems, and all who have come to check on us and pray over him. We will never forget the love you all have shown.
