Robert Charles LaCaze, of Shreveport, passed away on January 22, 2014, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be conducted at Forest Park Funeral Home on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 11AM. Interment will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery in Hall Summit, LA. A visitation will be held from 2-4PM on Sunday at the Funeral Home. Robert was born in Shreveport to the late Joseph B. LaCaze and Gracie Williamson LaCaze on January 14, 1956. Robert drove trucks for more than 30 years and had been a member of Teamsters Local Union 568. He enjoyed playing softball, singing, dancing and was a fan of many sports. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with friends, family and especially his grandchildren. He never met a stranger and was loved by everyone that he met, he will be missed dearly. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Joe LaCaze and Jerry LaCaze. He is survived by his loving children, Christy Davidson (Patrick), and Anthony LaCaze (Brandy); grandchildren, Trista Hammock, Kaitlan Hammock, Colton LaCombe, Isabella LaCaze, and Jaxon LaCaze; sisters, Edith Johnson and Elaine Manning; brother, Paul LaCaze (Debi); his special dog, Missy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Tim Baker, Miles Baker, James Blanton, Roy Coleman, TJ Kelley and Allen Mathewes. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Dhawan and the staff of St. Joseph's Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 in Robert's honor. Services have been entrusted to Forest Park Funeral Home.
