Robert "Jack" Bonnette Sr.

Robert “Jack” Bonnette Sr., 95, a retired Lather, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Jack was born on September 5, 1928 to Hector Delaney Bonnette and Maggie Mae Hutchins Bonnette in Keatchie, Louisiana. Jack spent his life in Shreveport, LA. He joined the Coast Guard at the age of 17 and was also a member of the Shreveport Fire Department. Jack then moved onto his job as a Construction Lather, from which he retired. Jack Loved to hunt and fish, he was also a member of Woodridge Baptist Church.

Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Laird Bonnette; his parents, Hector and Maggie Bonnette; his siblings, Sidney Bonnette, Dorothy Meacham, and Gilbert Bonnette.

He is survived by his son, Robert “Jack” Bonnette Jr. and wife Deborah Bonnette; his grandchildren, Trey Bonnette and Jennifer Stoey; great-grandchildren, Jenna Bonnette, Mason Bonnette, and Olivia Bonnette; nieces and nephews, Donald Bonnette, Rebecca Lusk, Brenda Makowsky, Cynthia Bonnette, Christy Randolph, Delane Spriggs, Donnie Meacham, Denise Cannon.

A visitation will be held Monday, January 29, 2024, from 5pm to 7pm at Forest Park Funeral Home, 1201 Louisiana Ave. Shreveport, LA 71101. Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 10am at Forest Park Funeral Home with interment to follow at Forest Park Cemetery 3700 St. Vincent Ave. Shreveport, LA.

The family ask that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
