Rickie Reeves

Mr. Rickie Reeves, 71, of Waskom, Texas, a retired electrician from General Motors, passed away Saturday, August 28th, 2021 of a brief illness. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 1st, 2021, at Forest Park Funeral Home, 1201 Louisiana Ave. Shreveport, LA. A private graveside service will be held for the family at a later date officiated by Dr. Ivy Shelton of First Baptist Waskom, TX. Rickie was born on August 25th, 1950 to Coy and Gladys Reeves in Vivian, LA. He was a resident of Waskom, TX and a faithful member of First Baptist Church Waskom where he taught the older adult Sunday School class for many years. He enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. Rickie is survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna N. Reeves, of Waskom, TX, and his sister, Mrs. Vickie Bernaotowicz, and husband, Glenn, of Shreveport, LA. He is also survived by his three sons; Jason Reeves and wife, Lori; Damon Reeves and wife, Erin, all of Waskom, TX; and Aaron Reeves and wife, Mariah, of Greenville, TX. Rickie also had a very special relationship with his nephews, Chad and Jeremey Bernaotowicz, and niece, Megan Hare. He is also survived by the light of his life, his grandchildren: Charlotte, Jay, Josh, Caroline, Jacob, Anna Claire, Justin, Morgan, Layla, and Jackson Reeves; and Maci and Seth Rice. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Memorials can be made in Rickie's honor to First Baptist Waskom, TX and St. Jude's Children's Hospital of Memphis, TN.
