Richard Charles Wargo

Richard Charles Wargo Mr. Richard Charles Wargo, 59, a native of Painesville, Ohio, and a resident of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2015, at his home after an extended illness. He grew up in Florence, Alabama and attended the University of Alabama for his undergraduate and graduate degrees. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and Delta Chi Fraternity at the University of Alabama. He retired from Christus Health in 2013 after 29 years of service. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 25, 2015 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. The visitation will be followed by a memorial mass at 11:00 a.m. with Father Pike Thomas officiating. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Lou Wargo. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Wargo; daughter, Lindsey Wargo and fianc Brad Renick; son Ryan Wargo and fiance Maria Santalucia; brother, Jay Wargo and wife, Darlene Wann; sister, Kathleen Stanfield and husband, Clyde; as well as several nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. Honorary pallbearers are Jay Wargo, Keith Denson, Gary Leach, Drew Stanfield, Hunter Stanfield, Alan Matthews, and Mike Goodwin. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Robert Massingil and his staff (Diantha, Edith, Kate, and Cheryl); Christus Health Hospice, and special caregivers (Robyn Watkins, Theresa Byrd, Stephanie Plunkett, Debbie Purvis, Veda Cawthorn, and Cindy Ezornack). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Alabama or to the American Cancer Society.
