Ralph Gary Thomson

It is with great sadness that the family of Ralph ""Gary"" Thomson announces his passing due to complications from surgery on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the age of 66 years. A native of Bossier City, Louisiana, Gary enlisted in the Navy in 1970 and served in the Ballistic Missile Submarine Service for seven years. After serving his country, he returned to Bossier City where he was dutifully employed as an advance commercial installer for the Interface Security Systems up until his passing. Gary was a kind and loving person and brought much joy to his family and friends. His sudden passing leaves many saddened by his loss. He is affectionately known as a teddy bear by his family and as ""Grumpy Smurf"" by his co-workers. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; William A. and Gladys L. (Moore) Thomson. Gary will be lovingly remembered by his five brothers; Bill, Mike, Bruce, Rick and Bryan, by his one sister; Peggy, and by their spouses. Gary will also be fondly remembered by nine nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and great-nephews. Gary chose to have a burial at sea for his final resting place. There are no plans for a memorial at this time. Memorial donations in memory of Gary may be made to his favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
