Peggy Lee Simpkins Blakeney

Oct 12, 1954 — May 31, 2026

Peggy Lee Simpkins Blakeney, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and esteemed manager at Cloud 9, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, in Shreveport. Born on October 12, 1954, in Oklahoma, Peggy’s life was marked by her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

A proud alumna of West Monroe High School, Peggy carried the values she learned during those formative years into every aspect of her life. Professionally, she flourished as a manager at Cloud 9, where her leadership and commitment touched the lives of many colleagues and customers alike.

Peggy was a woman who never met a stranger. Her friendly nature and open heart made her a cherished presence wherever she went. She found great joy in reading books and expressing her creativity through arts and crafts, hobbies that reflected her thoughtful and imaginative spirit. At home, she was often accompanied by her beloved pet, Pocket, whose companionship she dearly treasured.

The joy of Peggy’s life was her family. She truly loved her daughter, Connie Wilhite Grant, and was an adoring grandmother to her grandsons Kenneth Grant, Chris Grant, and Tyler Jeansonne. Although her granddaughter Bella Grant is no longer with us, her memory remains forever in Peggy’s heart. Peggy is survived by her sister Barbara Simpkins Bright. She was preceded in death by her parents, JS Simpkins and May Bell Simpkins, and her sister Shirley Simpkins Best.

Peggy’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and a genuine connection to those around her. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her generosity and spirit. As we remember Peggy Lee Simpkins Blakeney, we honor a life well-lived and a soul deeply loved.

Celebration of life will be held at Forest Park Funeral Home, the service information will be announced at a later date.

She will be dearly missed by her family and friends who continue to cherish her memory.
