Peggy Ann Guy Shouse

July 26, 1939 — January 28, 2025

Peggy Ann Guy Shouse, 85, left us peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Garden Park Nursing Home in Shreveport, Louisiana. Peggy was born on July 26, 1939, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Benjamin Earl Guy and Irma Jewel McKethan Guy.

Peggy was a proud graduate of Fairpark High School. Her education was a steppingstone to a life filled with service and commitment to others. In her early life, she demonstrated a profound dedication to her hometown, actively participating in numerous clubs and organizations that sought to improve the quality of life in the Shreveport/Bossier area.

A devoted member of Shreveport Community Church, Peggy found strength and purpose in her faith, which guided her through both the joyful and challenging moments of her life. Her love for her church and her community was evident in her actions, as she poured her heart into every endeavor she undertook.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband Gerald Edward Shouse, daughter Dana Lynn Shouse, sister Nancy Louise Guy Grissom and parents Benjamin Earl Guy and Irma Jewel McKathan Guy.

She is survived by her children Gerald “Jerry” Blaine Shouse, Chris Douglas Shouse, Keith “Randy” Randall Shouse and wife Donna, sister Janice Ruth Guy Harris Baird, her grandchildren Bailey Shouse, Katie Shouse Gartman and husband Chris, Chris Shouse, Gerald Shouse, Catherine Shouse Little and husband Jeremy, Braden Shouse, Jewel Ann Underwood, Micah Underwood, Olivia Zienter, her 6 great grandchildren, and numerous extended family members.

Peggy was a vibrant fashionista that loved spending time with family. She was a loving mother that never missed an activity. When not volunteering her time in the community, she could be found on Lake Bistineau with her family and friends. Later in life, she and her sister Janice would spend months at a time at her vacation home on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, enjoying each other’s company and playing games. Her last few years spent at Garden Park were filled with bible study, holiday parties, art classes and bingo games. She adored all her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren and looked forward to their visits.

Peggy’s legacy will be celebrated at Forest Park Funeral Home, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with the celebration of life service to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Forest Park East Cemetery, following the service. Family, friends, and all whose lives she enriched are invited to gather and share memories, honoring the vibrant life she lived.

Her sons would like to say a special thank you to her niece, Kim and sister Janice, for the special care they provided from the time she was a widow until her final days. The family would also like to give special thanks to the staff of Garden Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Peggy's memory to the Shreveport Community Church, Susan B. Komen, or the Salvation Army. These organizations reflect the values Peggy held dear and the spirit of giving that she exemplified throughout her life.
