Mrs. Hazel Irene Dunham-Bush

February 4, 1926 — May 8, 2021

Our Mother, Hazel Irene Johnson Dunham Bush, passed peacefully from this life on May 8, 2021, in Shreveport, LA, at the glorious age of 95. She lived a wonderful long life, loved by her children and loving them just as much. We will miss her sweet smile and gentle ways, as she was always the Southern Lady. Hazel was born in Elizabeth, LA, to her parents, Nellie and Milton Johnson, on February 4, 1926. We are proud to include her in that group known as "The Greatest Generation." She was a child of the Great Depression, and then a teenager during wartime. She graduated from Oakdale High School in 1942, and married our Father, Leo Dunham, in 1944 before he was sent to combat in Italy. She did her share for the war effort by working at Camp Claiborne. After World War II ended she and Daddy moved to Shreveport where they made their home for the rest of their lives. Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Linda Brady and husband Ed of Leesville, LA; Dr. John Dunham and wife Beth of Gig Harbor, WA; Julie Hagler and husband Rick of Karnack, TX; and Kathy Dunham and Richard Robinson of Bothell, WA; One brother, Thomas (Tommy) Johnson and wife Linda of DeRidder, LA; Eleven Grandchildren, Nineteen Great Grandchildren, and three Great-Great-Grandchildren. She is also survived by beloved nieces, nephews and extended family. We would like to express our appreciation to the staff at The Guest House in Shreveport and Christus Hospice for the loving care you provided for our Mother this past year. You were there when we couldnt be and we thank you for that. A graveside service to honor our Mothers life and celebrate her homegoing will be held on June 17, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, LA Celebration of Life/Graveside Service 2021-06-17 13:00:00 Forest Park West Cemetery, Shreveport
