Mrs. Evalee 'Kay' Cooley

Evalee "Kay" Cooley passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Saturday, January 18, 2020 after a long battle with liver disease. She was a Shreveport resident since 1977 and found a hobby in junkin, looking for treasures that later turned into a career. She was the manager at Kings Ransom Antiques on Kings Highway and later worked for Pack N Mail. She eventually decided to go back into her love for antiques and opened her own shop that she called Cooleys Centenary Antiques. Later, some of her antiques, along with herself and her husband Eugene were featured as extras on the movie "Where the Red Fern Grows 2". Born October 7, 1938 in Alexandria, Indiana and was one of eight siblings. She moved to California at the age of 6 and years later, met the love of her life Eugene and they married a short time later, they were married nearly 50 years. She is survived by her husband Eugene Cooley of Shreveport, daughters Krystal Lee Of Shreveport, Sandra Chappius of Bossier City, Lynda Nelson and husband Russell of Shreveport, Son Kenneth Bardett and wife Connie of Haughton and one stepson, Paul Cooley of Many, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her dad, Kenneth Reeves, her mother Eva Mae, her brothers Gale Reeves, David Reeves, Douglas Reeves, Von Reeves and her sisters Kendall Tutarow, Betty Rameriz, Jetty Mack. Also, preceding her death is her stepson Donald Cooley.
