We mourn the death and Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Mr. Billy Joe Woodward, 71, of Shreveport, Louisiana. Billy Joe Woodward passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2020 at Overton Brooks Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born on February 29, 1948 to Robbie and Mary Woodward in Stella, Missouri. Billy Joe graduated from Belton High School in Belton, Missouri. He resided in Shreveport, Louisiana and was a Maintenance Engineer in the Hospital Industry. He proudly serviced in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from September 26, 1967 June 29, 1970 and in the Army Reserves from June 30, 1970 September 1, 1973. During this time, he was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri, III Corps and Ft. Hood in Texas. He received a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Expert (Rifle). He was a member of the American Legion Lowe-McFarland Post No.14 and the NRA. Billy Joe was preceded in death by his parents Robbie and Mary Woodward, sister Eva Elizabeth Hamlin and brother Bobby Gene Woodward. Billy Joe is survived by his sister Betty and her husband Jay Breland, nephews David Cohn, Jay W. Breland, Brian Cohn, and Bill Breland and niece Kelley Fritz.
