Michael Bryan Prokopf

Michael Bryan Prokopf, 43, died unexpectedly Wednesday, August 10, 2016. Born on September 12, 1972 to Edward and Patricia Prokopf as the second of three children, he was a lifelong Shreveport resident and recently moved to Bossier City. He graduated from Southwood High School and earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Louisiana, Monroe, LA. Mike worked at Republic Services, but had recently left to start his own lawn service business. His greatest joy in life was his three children. He was actively involved with Pathways in Dallas, TX, where he submitted his life to Jesus Christ in 2015. One of his happiest moments was when he married his second wife, Amy Rainwater, his high school sweetheart. He was great with children and brought joy to those who knew him. Mike was a wonderful man with a huge generous heart and will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends. Mike left behind his parents, Edward & Patricia Prokopf of Bossier City; children; Kirsti, Karlli, and Devyn Prokopf, of Bossier City, LA; sister, Angela Prokopf Moore of Shreveport; brother, Edward Prokopf II of Bossier City. Wife, Amy Rainwater Prokopf; step-children, Nicholas and Erin Rainwater; and nephews, Cameron Prokopf, Collin Moore, Parker Moore and Mason Moore. Honorary Pallbearers are Edward Prokopf II, Dean Wagner, Chris Moore, Butch Rinaudo, Howard Ebarb and Lyn Shaw. The family would like to thank the medical emergency staff at University Health Hospital, for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time. Funeral services will take place at Forest Park Funeral Home, 1201 Louisiana Avenue, Shreveport, LA on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2016. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to an educational fund for his three children.
