Maxine B Mcnees Of Shreveport, La

Maxine Bridgeman McNees, 97, passed away on February 5, 2014. A graveside service will be held at Forest Park East Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Ave., on Monday, February 10, 2014 at 2:00pm. Dr Jeff Raines will be officiating. Maxine was born on March 9, 1916, in Shreveport, LA, to Bertha and Furman Bridgeman. After relocating to Homer, LA as a young child, Maxine graduated from Homer High School and married O.E. McNees in 1936. They eventually moved to Shreveport where they were in the restaurant business for many years. For over 20 years, Maxine worked for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Shreveport. Maxine is preceded in death by her husband, parents and three sisters. She is survived by her son, Richard Harvey McNees of El Cerrito, CA; her sister, Paula Levon Franklin of Shreveport, LA; nieces, Paula Franklin of Shreveport, LA, Susan Franklin Veillette (Jim) of Alexandria, VA, and Carol Dockery of Houston, TX; and nephew, Addis Williams of New York, NY. The family would like to thank Maxine's devoted caregivers, Linda McNeil, Tressie Haynes, Bessie White, and the staff at Montclair Park Assisted Living.
