Mattie Jean Bryant Dickens, 76, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023.


Mattie was born to Albert Bryant and Mary Chelette on September 12, 1947, in Pineville, Louisiana. Mattie spent most of her life in Montgomery, Louisiana where she attended Montgomery High School. Mattie was a member of Hargis Baptist Church. She enjoyed making arts and crafts in her spare time.


Mattie is preceded in death by her parents; Albert Bryant and Mary Chelette, her brother; Joe Paz, her sisters; Edna Allen and Mildred Childs, and her grandchildren; David Acuna and Tyler Medford.


Mattie is survived by her children; James “Jimbo” Tassin, Carl Tassin, Ricky Edmonds, Beth Daniels and husband Don, Pamela Bedgood and husband Sam, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.


Visitation will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 5 pm-8 pm at Forest Park Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 1 pm at Forest Park Funeral Home.
