Mary Elizabeth Creech

June 28, 1928 — December 2, 2025

Shreveport

Mary was born June 28, 1929 and was known for her fiery red hair and beautiful blue eyes. She grew up in Chidester, Arkansas and moved to Shreveport, Louisiana in 1947 where she met her husband, Olen Creech. They were married in 1948 and celebrated their 60th anniversary, one day before he transitioned to heaven. She was a homemaker and also helped her husband in his construction business.

She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with all her heart and was known to preach about Him to anyone in earshot! She was a mighty prayer warrior and always spoke Psalms 103:5 over herself, “my youth is renewed like the eagle’s!” She loved to work in the yard and especially mowing. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed doing puzzles. She grew up hunting and shot her last deer at 93 years old!

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, James & Minnie Carroll, her husband, Olen Creech, her brothers and sisters, and grandson, Brian Poole.

She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Savelle and Jan Poole, her grandchildren, Jerri Ann, Terri, and Brandon, 10 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
