Lydia Bell Lyles

A Funeral service for Lydia Bell Lyles will be Friday June 23, 2017 at Forest Park Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 10:00am for the visitation and the funeral service to follow at 11:00am. The graveside will be to follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Lydia was born in Vivian, Louisiana to Warren Quitman Bell and Ada Potter Bell. She passed away on June 20, 2017. She was a resident of Shreveport and a member of Westview Christian Church. Over the years, she taught Sunday School, helped in the nursery, was President of the Dorcas Circle, and supported her husband in various leadership roles in the church. During the war she worked at LA Army Ammunition Plant. She worked for 10 years in the banking industry, first at Pioneer Bank and Trust, the Shreveport Bank and Trust as Head Cashier. She worked 20 years for the state of Louisiana in Family Services before retiring in 1984 so she could help take care of her two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Ingram Henderson Jr., and her late husband of 60 years, Lewis Monroe Lyles; her brothers Debs Bell, Talmadge bell, Conrad Bell, Timothy Bell; sisters Ada Bell Carson, and Daisy Bell; and her parents Warren and Ada Bell. She is survived by her sons Jerry Clyde Henderson and Larry Lewis Lyles and wife, Kathy; grandchildren, Lindsay Kay Foster, Caleb Daniel Lyles and wife, Sally; great-grandchildren Luke Monroe Lyles and Jonah Daniel Lyles; and nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Horarce Boone, Westley Cates, Buddy Hatcher, David Swicegood, Larry Thomas, and Ricky Womack. Honorary Pallbearers will be Vernon Burgess, Gary Varner, and Roy Walling.
