Lorraine Mavis Powers

Lorraine Mavis Powers, 73, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026, in Shreveport. She was born on September 8, 1953, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Curtis and Ida Mae Price.

Lorraine was a woman who loved bringing people together. Whether it was a family gathering, a celebration, or simply an opportunity to enjoy the company of those she loved, she was always ready for a good party or celebration. She found joy in cooking for her family and friends and was especially known for making the best peanut brittle.

Lorraine had a giving heart and enjoyed helping others whenever she could. Above all, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her tremendous happiness. Her love for celebrating life’s moments, her generosity, and the memories she created with those closest to her will forever be treasured.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Ida Mae Price; her brothers, Don Price and Charlie Price; and her sister, Wanda Frasier.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Stephanie Bowen and husband Dustin, Wendy Powers, and Gary Dale Powers; her grandchildren, Jacob Mitchell, Brandon Powers, Julie Bowen, and Nick Todd; her great-grandchildren, Shyann, Blade, Torrance, Landyn, Arianna, Saphira, and Brandon; and her siblings, Louis Price, Doug Price, and Maxine McDonald.

Lorraine will be remembered for her love of family, her joyful spirit, and the warmth she brought to every gathering. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she shared and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
