Bossier City

Lawrence Lamar Stringer, 84, of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed away on November 14, 2025.

Lamar was born in Nebo, Louisiana on August 19, 1941, the youngest child of Ben Alexander Stringer and Bertha Elizabeth Williams Stringer. He grew up on the family farm in Jena, Louisiana. Lamar graduated from Jena High School in 1959, then went on to a long career selling heavy equipment across Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas.

Lamar married Vicki Walsh in 1965 in Shreveport. Together they raised their four children in south Bossier City.

Lamar loved hunting, fishing, and just being outdoors. To his grandchildren, he was lovingly known as “Pops,” and nothing made him happier than sharing his favorite pastimes with them. He was a devoted LSU Tiger fan through and through, a passion he proudly passed down to his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki Walsh Stringer; children, Neal Stringer (Jeanette), Stephen Stringer (Jennifer), Daniel Stringer (Jennifer), and Heather Stringer Jach (Scott); grandchildren, Nikolaus Stringer, Collin Jach, Peyton Muse, Amelia Stringer, Elyse Stringer, Beckett Stringer, and Julia Stringer; sister, Liz Stringer Crooks (Louis).

Preceding Lamar in death are his parents, Ben and Bertha Stringer; brothers, Guy Everett Stringer, Henry Green Stringer, and Robert Leon Stringer, sisters, Violet Stringer Hudson, Marilyn Stringer Edwards, and Opal Stringer Taylor.
