Juanita Ingram “Bug” Yates, age 95, wife and mother, passed away due to natural causes on April 19, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born on May 19, 1927, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to Walter H. Ingram and Lillie Ingram. She was very active in church and worshiped at Brookwood Baptist for many years. Juanita also sang in the Goldtone Choir and found great joy in teaching the Peacemakers Sunday School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius J. Yates; her parents, Walter H. and Lillie Ingram; and her siblings, Ollie Bell Ingram Harper and husband Bill and W. H. Ingram and wife Doris.
She is survived by her daughter, Anita Yates Seggelink; nieces, Darlene Mann and husband Rip, Debra Carrick and husband Bob, and Rhonda Brandon and husband Neil; her nephew, James Guin; her granddog, Reno Seggelink; and a host of extended family and friends.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation for the doctors, nurses, and staff of Colonial Oaks Rehabilitation Center, Heritage Manor Stratmore, and Christus Highland Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 26, at 2:00 PM, at Lone Cedar Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 2068 FM3082, Joaquin, TX 75954. Memorial contributions in Juanita’s honor may be sent to the charity of your choice.
