Joyce Marie Joyner, affectionately known as "Tee," passed away on June 8, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and entrepreneurial spirit. Born on March 24, 1972, in Sacramento, California, Joyce's journey through life was marked by her unwavering commitment to family, community, and business.
An accomplished entrepreneur, Joyce was the proud owner of Sparkling Cleaner Janitorial Service, ventures that exemplified her hardworking nature and dedication to quality service. Alongside her entrepreneurial pursuits, she served her country with honor as a member of the National Guard, demonstrating courage and patriotism.
Joyce’s personal life reflected the same passion and devotion she brought to her career. She was deeply proud of being a loving mother, wife, and family member, roles she cherished above all else. Her family was the center of her world, and she delighted in activities such as bowling, spending quality time with her loved ones, and playing cards—a pastime that created countless treasured memories.
A faithful member of St. Mary’s AME Church, Joyce’s spirituality was an integral part of her life, providing her with strength and grounding.
She is survived by her beloved husband, James Joyner, and their children: James Joyner Jr., Marquitta Wright, Kamri Wright, and Danielle Joyner. Joyce’s siblings—Jerry Thomas and Ervin Thomas—stand among her living family, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was also a proud grandmother of nine grandchildren who will carry forward her loving spirit.
Joyce’s journey was shaped by the loving family into which she was born. She joins her late parents, Ervin Thomas Sr., Viney Howard, and Luther Howard, as well as her siblings Carl Thomas, Donald Thomas, Ronald Thomas, and Darrell Thomas in eternal rest. Her cherished pet Lulu also preceded her in passing.
Services to honor and celebrate Joyce’s life will be held at Forest Park Funeral Home located at 1201 Louisiana Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71101. A visitation will take place on June 19, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life on June 20, 2026, at 11:00.
Joyce Marie Joyner’s life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and dedication. Her legacy as a devoted mother, wife, entrepreneur, and community member will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. She touched many lives and leaves behind a family bound by her example of strength and grace.
