“Joe” was born on November 9, 1942, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He graduated from Allen Military Academy, Bryan, TX, and upon graduation, went into the Herrin family business, Herrin Transfer and Warehouse Co. Always the entrepreneur, he branched into ownership of other companies and became a founding partner of HAL International LLC. Joe lived his life to the fullest, enjoying boating, traveling, and real-estate ventures. He was an active member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Longview, TX.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Billie Jean Camus, stepfather Raymond F. Camus Sr., father, Joseph Richard Herrin, Jr., son Sean Bartlett Herrin, M.D., former wife, Vicki Lee Herrin, brother and sister-in-law William Franklin Herrin, Sr. and Shary Dianne.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Linda Traugott Herrin, son Troy Holmes Herrin, and daughter, Christina Holly Ulbrich and husband, Brian, stepson “Johnny” Hogshead, five grandchildren Jordan Raymond Herrin (Elisa), Courtney White (Rob), Charlotte Griffith, Adam Ulbrich; Megan Nicole Herrin and great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Alayna, and Ellyanna Herrin, sister Judie Camus Boxill (Herb), brother Raymond Frank Camus Jr. (Debra) and several nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

While business and entrepreneurship were paramount throughout his professional life, it was second to his love for family and his walk with the Lord.
