Ms. Johnnie Lee Watts McGowan Shreveport, LA - Mrs. Johnnie McGowan was called into the loving arms of our Lord, the morning of Friday, July 28, 2017, completely surrounded by the love of her adoring family. Mrs. Johnnie, 81,of Bossier City, was born on December 5, 1935, in the town of Hodge, LA located in Jackson Parish to Norma Lee Watts Alexander and John Wesley Watts. After graduating High School form Jonesboro High she met and married the love of her life, Roy Gordon McGowan. Johnnie then began to experience and enjoy the travels of being a Military-Wife, as Roy was in the Air Force. During their life together in the service they traveled and lived in Oscoda, Michigan; Dover, Delaware; and Bitburg, Germany. Johnnie, was a lover of nature in all of its forms and a tireless gardener. She was quite the "FisherWoman" who was most fond of Bass Fishing here in SportsWoman's Paradise! She love reading, history, and politics. She was an ardent observer of Life! She always looked at the world up close. Ms. Johnnie is survived by: Her Husband Roy Gordon McGowan; her Brother James Wesley Watts (Jimmy Nell), William Wesley Watts (Ida Barbra); her children: Melissa McGowan McKenney (Timothy), Melanie Kay McGowan (Margaret), Melinda Lee McGowan (Ernest), Gordon Melton McGowan (Jennifer), and grandchildren: Mallory McKenney, Gordon Joshua McGowan, and Emily Ann McGowan.
