John Lorry Clay, Jr. "Johnny, Pawpaw", 87, of Keithville, Louisiana passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021. John was born November 22, 1933 to John and Janice Clay in Bastrop, Louisiana. He attended Neville High School and then attended Tulane College. John spent most of his life in Keithville, Louisiana. He was a member of Paradise Orchids, which was his favorite flower, and he was also president of The Lyons Club. He also enjoyed hunting for orchids, traveling, taking photographs, and telling his stories. John is preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Ann Clanton Clay; parents, John Lorry Clay Sr. and Janice Baggett Clay; grandchildren, Nathaniel Joseph Mayfield and Christopher Lee Mayfield; and brother Michael Legrand "Mickey" Clay. He is survived by his wife, Mary L. Gray Clay; daughter, Alice Diann Mayfield; grandchildren, John W. Mayfield and wife Stephanie, Melissa Patrick; sister, Mary Lou Clay; and great grandchildren, Jay Patrick, Clay Patrick, Taylor Mayfield, Skylar Mayfield, and Carmen Mayfield "Calamity Jane".
