JoAnn Morvan Solice, age 73 passed way Tuesday, January 23, 2013 with her family by her side in Greenwood, LA. The family will receive friends from 6pm til 7pm, Friday, January 25, 2013 at Forest Park Funeral Home, 1201 Louisiana Ave with a Rosary to follow at 7pm. The funeral service will be 12:30pm, Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the funeral home. Mrs. Solice will be laid to rest at the Forest Park West Cemetery following the service. She was born on October 19, 1939 in Powhattan, LA to Albert and Louise Morvan. She was an active member of St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church for many years. Mrs. Solice worked in the restaurant industry for 42 years and during those years touched so many lives. She retired in 2000 from the Holidome (Holiday Inn). She will always be remembered as the ""lady with the great personality."" Mrs. Solice was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Charles William (Bill) Solice, her son, Carson Ray Solice and her sister, Jackie McGullion. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Lucille Bustaminto, Doris Moore, and Shirley Lafayette; brothers, Murray, Billy and Dick Morvan; two sons, Ricky Solice & wife, Donna and Randy Solice & wife, Lacey; two daughters, Sherry Malone & husband, Mike and Kim Solice; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and an abundance of special nieces and nephews. Mrs. Solice lost her battle with ovarian cancer, but her family would like to give a special thanks to all of her wonderful doctors, nurses and caregivers.
