James David Shafer was born November 02, 1928, at Shreveport, La. His parents were William Therman Shafer and Lena Arnold Shafer.
James served in the Military Service as a Clerical Clerk and USAFI
Registrar for the Army Education Center, Europe, at Landstuhl, Germany from 1953-1955. James worked for the MR&T and A&LM Railway for a number of years as a clerk in the Accounting Dept., retiring with the Warren C West Firm as an accountant. James was a Concert Pianist for the YMCA Boy's Division in Shreveport, La. under the N.M. Shelton administration.1944. James has concretized for many military occasions for groups in the European Theatre and many Churches In the local. Worked with Doris Bowan at the Salvation Army as a Volunteer in clerical records and Music for over a decade.
James is an armature Photographer and Computer person. He has shot numerous pictures of downtown Shreveport for over 40 years on the Now and Then Theme. He is a lover of Voice, Broadway, Operetta, Opera and Concert Piano Music.
He is proceeded in death by his daughter Judith Crawford.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Debbie Phillips, Susan Shafer, Patti Lund (Billy) and Julie Valentine (Stephen), 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
