Jack Markell

Jack Wilford Markell, 87, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Heritage Manor Stratmore Nursing Home in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born January 28, 1932 in Plymouth, Michigan. He was the son of Ira Joseph Markell and Anna Mae Sopp Markell. He was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind a wife, Nancy Markell; his only child, Maria Markell Schmelz; three grandchildren, Macy Elizabeth Schmelz, Lola Jane Schmelz and Seth Lennon Schmelz; 4 siblings, Marilyn Markell Hanson, Irene Markell Weiss, Betty Jean Markell and Kenneth Markell; several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Heritage Manor Stratmore Nursing Home for the wonderful care that Mr. Markell has been receiving there since 2014.
