Ivory Dean Cooper Smith, 71, of Shreveport, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017. She was born September 21, 1945 to Willie Cooper Jr. and Gertie Mae Bradford Cooper. She attended Herndon High School in Belcher, Louisiana and married her pen pal Albert P. Smith moving to Clinton, North Carolina and then Washington DC until his untimely death in the US Military. After she made Shreveport, Louisiana her home. Ivory enjoyed fishing, BBQ's, drives in the park and listening to Smokey Robinson. She enjoyed family and friends and never met a stranger. The Cowboys and Saints were the football teams that she proudly cheered for and she enjoyed preaching to everyone in her door to door ministry but her biggest accomplishment was on June 21, 2008 when she became Sister Ivory Smith and was baptized as one of the Jehovah's witnesses where her hope of living in a Paradise forever became her passion and determination (Psalm 40:8). Ivory was preceded in death by her husband; Albert P. Smith, Parents; Sister; Bertha Lee, Brothers; Joseph and Roy Cooper and Great Grandchild; Jahmir Smith. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Jacqulyn Smith Ball and husband Abon and Ingrid Smith Cooper, son; Keith Cooper and wife Akamia, Grandchildren; Patrick, Diamond and Arielle Smith, Abon and Telia Ball, Rodney Hewitt Jr, Dontrell Hall, Kiana, Tiyera, Vankeith, Laisha, Ivan and Devan Cooper. Great Grandchildren; Aniyah Smith, Terez Mack and Cason Ball. Brothers; Alvin and Rogers Cooper, Sisters; Ruby Cooper and Judy Howard. Host of Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and with a special thanks to Regina, Arneishia and LaRhonda. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with Services starting at 11:00 AM followed by interment at Forest Park West Cemetery.
