Fred Cowden

Fred Cowden a loving father, grandfather, and husband went to be with the lord on June 29, 2018. He was born in Monroe, LA on July 17, 1948 and moved to Shreveport in 1965 to become one of the best roofing contractors in Shreveport for over 50 years. He loved hunting, fishing, and taking care of his animals, but most of all he loved his family. If you understood him, you loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Imez Cowden, two brothers Bill and Huck Cowden, one sister Evaneu Myers and granddaughter Kayla Mathews. He is survived by his wife of 50 years; Karen Cowden, one son; Fred Cowden Jr. and wife Hannah, three daughters; Karri Mathews, April Cowden, and Lillie Cowden, and grandchildren; Courtney and Eric O Keefe, Kelsie Smith and Jon Badgley, MacKenna Cowden and Garret Cowden, four brothers; Richard, Earl, David, and Bobby Cowden, four sisters; Jean, Margaret, Lynn, and Brenda and a host of nieces and nephews that he loved. He was known to many as just Gran Daddy. Visitation will be Thursday July 5th at 5pm, services at 11am Friday July 6th. Services will be led by Bro. Doug Burnley and Bro. Mike Stowell. Pallbearers will be Fred Cowden Jr., Garrett Cowden, Eric O Keefe, Jon Badgley, Matt Cowden, David Cowden, Troy Thompson, and Josh Kimbrell.
