Francis Earl Babin Sunrise: 10-22-1933 Sunset: 1-10-2018 Daddy's broken heart was finally mended and he's joined the love of his life and his grandson, Mama and Alex. He lived most of his life in Shreveport and Waskom, TX. And was retired from The Shreveport Times after 51 years of service. In the 60's-70's, he enjoyed teaching us skiing and fishing on Cross Lake, Toledo Bend, and Lake Greeson. He also served in the U.S. Army and was proud to be a Mason and a Shriner. Everyone takes joy in knowing that in his last few months, his greatest fun was the poker games with his family where he was our "Comedy Relief"! The funniest man we've ever known. He will be cremated and per his wishes, NO SERVICES. He would want everyone to just remember a funny story or two and share them with our family online in the guest book. Laughter really does help us through our toughest times in this life. He was surrounded by some of the BEST laughers ever on NYE and that brings us ALL peaceful comfort. He was predeceased by our mom, Carolyn Babin; his parents, A.J. and Cleo Babin; grandparents, Floyd and Lela Jones; grandson, Alex Kyle Williams; great grand daughter, Karley Angel Wyatt; in-laws, S.B. and Vera VanNorman; sister in law, Faye Branch; and his beloved dog Harley. He is survived by his 2 daughters, Wanda Babin Thompson (Stuart) and Lea Babin Williams (Gary). Also survived by his grandchildren who loved their "PawPaw" Wendi Wyatt Coker (Craig), Blake Wyatt (Kim); great- grandchildren, Wren Coker and Whitni Coker Ducas (Duke), Kiley Wyatt and Kinsley Wyatt; great-great granddaughter, Willow Claire Ducas, also his neighbor of 40 plus years, Janice Anderson and her companion, David Messer, who were always there for him and kept him company. Please do not grieve for him. Just remember the good times and laughter. Also, try and sign the guestbook for us. Lastly, a very special thank you to Mr. Kevin Hurd at Forest Park Funeral Home for taking such loving care of both our mother and father for us. You have touched our hearts forever, sir.
