Floyd D Jasper

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 10:00 AM followed by a Service. Interment will be held at Forest Park Cemetery West. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Floyd D. Jasper passed away at the age of 69, Tuesday December 26th, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Jasper, sons: Jack and Jesse Jasper, and grandchildren: Henry and Jessica Jasper. Floyd was born in Vidor, Texas, but lived in a great many places, most recently, Shreveport, Louisiana, and Flippin, Arkansas where he made his home with Melissa. Floyd had many professions in life, Cabinet Maker, Truck Driver, Entrepreneur, Welder, and Guitar Builder. He also enjoyed hunting and occasionally fishing but his two great loves in his lifetime were Patricia "Pat" Jasper, and Bluegrass music. Floyd and Pat were married in 1968 and remained so until Pat's death in 2009. While he loved her dearly, we are forever grateful the he found Melissa to share his remaining years with. There was nothing Floyd wanted to do more than play music, anywhere and anytime he could! He dedicated much of his life to the craft, mastering several instruments but he is most readily known for his talented work with Resonator Guitars (commonly known as Dobro's). He will be greatly missed by all who knew him as a great musician, friend and most importantly Husband, Father and Grandfather or "Papa" as he preferred to be called. We love you and are glad to know momma is waiting for you on the other side.
