Faye LeVasseur White, 88 was born in Shreveport, La. September 2, 1926 to local builder, the late A. J. LeVasseur and Winifred LaVigne LeVasseur. She passed away March 13, 2015 in Shreveport after a lengthy illness. Faye attended Fair Park High School, graduating in 1944, she was in the first nursing class at Centenary College, though she did not finish. At that time you could not be married and be in nursing school, so she chose marriage. She married Woodrow White in 1946, they had seven children. Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years and their first two children, Gerald and Cheryl Joan, daughter in law Evelyn ""Sue"" White and sister Margie L. Edwards. Left to cherish her memory is her sister Sandra Bryant Fuller and husband Donnie. Her five children- Michael K. White and wife Emma, Gary White, Gerald W. White and wife Patrice, David ""Arnie"" White and wife Kathy and Daughter. Carla Thomas and husband Leslie. 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great -great grandchildren. ""Adopted"" sons Steve Shipp and family James Mason and family. Numerous nieces and nephews and former daughter in law Bobbie Thompson. Honoring Faye as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Dale White, Robert White Tim White John White, Michael A. White, and Alan White. Honorary pallbearers will be J. R. Shipp, Alex Shipp, Will Wittmer, John Chenault and Kai Fletcher. Visitation, Friday, March 20, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m. Services will be Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 10:00a.m. At Forest Park Funeral Home
