Faye Deverne Birdwell - Coleman ""Momma D"" Heaven gained a special Angel on Monday September 5, 2016. Faye Deverne Coleman, 76, of Shreveport, La., joined her parents Luther ""Preacher"" Birdwell and Allie Mae Parker Birdwell, of Marthaville, La, husband Calvin Lindy Coleman and brothers Lester Birdwell, James Birdwell, Thomas Birdwell and infant sister Carolyn Birdwell. Those left to cherish precious memories are her children, Ricky Byers (Judi), Lavonda Byers Johnson (Albert), Sandra Byers Heister (Henry), Charles Byers (Ronda), Gene Byers (Ree'ne) and Renee' Pickett. Also, she leaves behind brothers Carl Birdwell (Margaret) and Charles ""Mott"" Birdwell and her sister Mildred Birdwell McPhearson (Bobby), fifteen grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday September 8th, 2016 from 5-7:00 p.m. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday September 9th, 2016 at Forest Park Funeral Home, located at 1201 Louisiana Avenue, Shreveport, La. Final resting place will be at Bethel Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery, located at 1316 Union Grove Rd., Pleasant Hill, La. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Billy Bickham and staff, Dr. Gurleen Sikand, WK Health Care Systems, Trinity Home Health Care and St. Joseph's Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to Faye's favorite charities: American Diabetes Association, or the American Parkinson Disease Association.
