Evelyn Morton

Evelyn A. Morton, age 88 of Shreveport passed away at the home of her son and daughter n law. Graveside Services will be held Friday January 13,2017 at 2:30pm at Forest Park West Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Larry Bass. She was born January 20, 1928 in Lambert, MS to A.T. & Ora Stone Adams. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter Cara Ruth Morton & her husband of 66 years, Donald E. Morton Sr. as well as two sisters and one brother. Mrs. Morton retired from both Sears and Shreveport Credit Bureau as a collections agent. Mr. and Mrs. Morton raised their three sons at Magnum Memorial United Methodist Church and were faithful members there for over fifty years. Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Gene Morton and wife Barbara of Camden, AR, Brian Morton and wife Pam of Shreveport and Gary Morton and wife Jeanne of Kearney, NE. she is also survived by seven grandchildren: Mark Morton and wife Cheryl, Carrie Sloan and husband Charlie, Jacob Morton, Adrian Morton, Kasey Powers and husband Chris, Seleste Childers and husband Brian and Christopher Morton, as well as two great grandchildren Blaire Childers and Wesley Powers and a new baby to arrive in March. The family wishes to thank Dr. P.V. Blanchard for his 54 years of dedication and care as Mrs. Morton's physician as well as Jackie Boyd, her private sitter and friend. The family also sends a special thanks to Aime Hospice staff. Honoring Mrs. Morton as pallbearers will be her grandson's: Mark, Jacob, Adrian, Christopher, Charlie and Brian Jr. The family will receive visitors at their home following the service.
