Dorothy Frances Lehr, 88, a devout Catholic and resident of Shreveport, La., passed into her eternal life with the Lord on Tuesday, August 24th, 2021. Dorothy, or "Dot" as she was known, is preceded in death by her husband and lifelong sweetheart of 69 years, Robert "Bob" Lehr. She is survived by her daughter, Karen and her husband, Gene; daughter, Cindy and her husband, Mike; daughter, Dianne; daughter, Connie, and her husband, David; son, Ron, and his wife, Annette; and son, Steve, and his wife, Angela. She is preceded in death by her parents Albert Baskerville, Sr. and Naomi Baskerville of Indianapolis, In. Dot was one of 11 children and is survived by two brothers, Michael and Albert Baskerville. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Helen, Charlotte, Mary, Maxine, and Nancy; and by her brothers, Robert, Sam, and Donovan. As the matriarch of a large family, she and Bobs legacy of love continues with 21 grandchildren plus two angels in heaven; 40 great-grandchildren plus one angel in heaven, and numerous family members and friends. Dot was born on October 20, 1932, in Indianapolis. She married Bob on October 20, 1951, and they soon started their own family. The Lehrs relocated to Louisiana in 1967 after Bob accepted a promotion through Western Electric. Dot worked primarily as a homemaker but was also a dress shop manager. Dot loved dancing, big band music, bowling, and playing cards. She was a hostess at heart who could always be found cleaning and cooking for her family. She loved to travel, often visiting family in Indiana. She and Bob took multiple church trips to different parts of Europe, particularly enjoying their time exploring the Vatican and Italy. As a lifelong Catholic, Dot often attended daily mass and served as part of the Blue Army of Our Lady Ftima. She is best-known for being devoted to her faith, husband, and family. She was sophisticated, sweet, spunky, steadfast, and very dear to those who knew her. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 30th at St. Jude Catholic Church, 4700 Palmetto Road in Bossier City, LA. Visitation will be from 8:30- 9:30 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 9:30 a.m., following the visitation. The service will also be streamed live through the churchs website and Facebook page. Interment will be held at Forest Park Cemetery East. Flowers may be sent directly to St. Jude Church, or in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or St. Jude Catholic Church.
