Doris Rabon , 89, of Blanchard, La, died Saturday, October 17 2015, at her home. Celebration of Life services will be held at 6:00 pm, Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 6978 Howell St in Greenwood, La. We invite all friends and family to come share their memories of our beloved mother and grandmother. Doris Rabon was born on November 1, 1925 in Epps, La to Mr. Byron and Eva Nelson. Doris was married to Lawrence Rabon and they had eight beautiful daughters. She was a homemaker and a Christian women. She loved the gospel and reading her bible to her family. She was known for her warm delicious biscuits and her famous peach cobbler. Mrs. Rabon is preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Nelson, her husband Lawrence Rabon, her brother William Nelson, daughters Gretchen Rabon and Charlotte Woods, son in law Bobby DeWitt, great grandson Forrest Gauthier, and great great grandson baby Laine Randall White. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Todd and husband Buck, Debbie Calvert and husband Jack, Gale DeWitt, Pamela Hairston and husband Dwain, Beverly Barton and husband Jim, and Lawrencine Rabon. Sister Joyce Cassels, brother Jim Nelson and wife Mary. Grandkids Wendy (Mark) Sloan, Jamie Emmons, Robbie Todd, Michael (Shanna) Gauthier, Monica (Richard) Madrigal, Dana Jones, Leslie Gauthier, Craig Elmore, Jodi (Jack) Hopkins, Kelly DeWitt, Jeremy (Karen) Barton, Dollie (Eric) Maness, Shannon (Bear) Goodman, Melanie DeWitt, Jerrod (Jackie) Barton, Dene' Jones, Ashley (Bobby) Jones. Along with thirty-four great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. The family would like to express a special thanks to Stephanie McConnell with Mind Rehabilitation and Resource and Brenda Tolbert Williams her hospice nurse and a long time family friend for her special care of our sweet mother and grandmother.
