Donnie Wayne Gentry, 66, a former delivery driver for Down Home Meats, died on December 13, 2021, at Intensive Specialty Hospital. He was born on March 17, 1955, in Shreveport, LA, to Wayne and Joe Gentry. He lived most of his life in Shreveport and attended Sunset Acres Elementary School, Oak Terrace Jr. High, and Woodlawn High School. After graduating, he joined the United States Navy and served on 2 aircraft carriers - the Saratoga and the Independence. Donnie left the Navy as a Grade E-5 Level D. He loved to spend time hunting, fishing, reading, and cooking. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Joe; nephew, Spec. Steven M. Krugh; and niece, Michele Krugh-Williams. Donnie is survived by his siblings, Vickie Gentry Krugh-Brownlee (Doyle Brownlee), Suzanna (Teddy) Vlas, and Bruce W. Gentry; nieces, Samantha Krugh-Frazier (Deon Frazier), Sarah Fry, MyKinsey Fry, Lily Gentry, Jordyn Vlas, Paisley Krugh, Sadey Krugh, Athena Vlas, Olivia Vlas, and Aurora Vlas; nephews, Michael Krugh, Jason (Jennifer) Vlas, Jonathan (Candice) Vlas, Trey Fry, Thomas Gentry, Christian Krugh, and Aydenn Frazier; and many aunts, cousins, and special friends.
