Derrick Dewayne Houston

Derrick Dewayne Houston, 46, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. He was born August 5, 1972 in Shreveport, LA. to Albert and Delores Houston. He attended Arthur Circle Elementary, Ridgewood Middle and Captain Shreve High School where he played football during his middle and high school years. He served his country in the United States Army and Army Reserve and obtained certification in sheet metal and a/c repair. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and reading and loved nature and history. Derrick was a member of Word of Life Center and volunteered as an alter prayer partner. Left to cherish his memory is his wife; Rosie Houston, daughter; Latoya Wesley, son; Derrick Houston Jr. and wife Lora, parents; Albert and Delores Houston, grandchildren; Lakavion and Kesan Wesley, Aaliyah Houston, sister; Angela Houston, brothers Ray West and Adrian West, grandmother; Ossie Jernigan, beloved pets Promise and Charlotte and a host of many other family and friends. A Pre-luncheon will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Houston's home 7772 Mary Anne Circle, Shreveport, followed by a Visitation at Forest Park Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A Memorial Service will take place at Word of Life Center on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 1:00 PM followed by interment at 2:30 PM at Forest Park Cemetery West.
