David Monroe Holland

David Monroe Holland, 88, of Bossier City, LA, retired nursing home admin, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023, after a brief illness.

David was born, December 24, 1934, to David Monroe Holland Sr. and Lucille Davlin Holland Gray. David spent most of his life in Shreveport, LA. David attended Fair Park High School, Class of 1952. After high school he joined the National Guard. David was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church and Airline Baptist Church.

David is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Omelia Hardee Holland; his parents, David Monroe Holland Sr. and Lucille Davlin Holland Gray; and his grandson, Travis Neil Holland.

David is survived by his children, Candy Herron (Chuck) and Scott Holland (Melissa); his grandchildren, Jennifer Herron, Courtney Herron Kelsh (Zac), Jacob Linson, Stephanie Weippert, Joshua Holland; and his two great-grandsons Levi Kelsh and Noah Brady.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2023, from 10:00am to 11:00am at Forest Park Funeral Home, with the Funeral service to follow at 11:00am. Interment will be held at Forest Park West Cemetery immediately after.
