Shreveport - David Michael Daniels (Cotton Dan), 65, passed away at his home in Shreveport, Louisiana on September 11, 2017. At a young age, David left his hometown of Worcester, Massachusetts with a passion for music and a desire to make a name for himself. He worked as an architect, an artist, and most notably, a musician. His many accomplishments include a hit single with the Nite Riders band; The Cotton Dan Band with whom he was proud to perform with many notable acts, including the dearest to his heart, the late Claude King. He enjoyed collecting coins and antique guns, and gathering with family and friends for a game of cards or night of music. He is predeceased by Elaine Benedict Daniels wife of 19 years; father Eugene Daniels, mother Dorothy Henry, brothers Lee and Pete Daniels, his sister Whitney Snookie Daniels and his nephew David. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Nicole Daniels Maniscalco and her sons Beaux and Bryce; his son Brandon (Cotton) Daniels; his stepdaughters Lisa Frost, Angel Petre, Diane Owen, and Tammy Trainor; as well as their children Phillip, Jett, Cole, Addie, Adam, and Tiana; his sister Georgiana Gordon and niece Justina; as well as numerous other family. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday September 15 1:30 pm at Forrest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Ave. with a family style celebration of life picnic at Betty Virginia Park to follow.
