It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel O'Connell Pinchera Jr., affectionately known as "Papa," who departed this life on December 19, 2025, in Doyline, Louisiana. Born on December 4, 1942, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Daniel lived a fulfilling life marked by love, dedication, and service to his family and country.
A proud retired veteran from the U.S. Army, Daniel exemplified the values of duty and honor throughout his military career. He brought those same principles into his personal life, where he cultivated deep connections with his loved ones. Daniel was known for his extraordinary green thumb; he could grow any fruit or vegetable, a testament to his nurturing spirit that extended beyond his garden.
Daniel's life's journey took him through several places including Miami, Florida, Inverness, Florida, Charleston, South Carolina, and ultimately back to Shreveport, Louisiana. Each location was enriched by his presence, and he formed lasting memories in the communities where he lived.
He is survived by his beloved children Angie Martinez (Juan Martinez), Bonnie Minamyer (Michael P. Minamyer), and Michael Pinchera. His legacy continues through his grandchildren Hailey Toth, Hanna Norsworthy, Michael Hernandez, Kaleb Green, Kason Green, Marcos Hernandez, Andrea Martinez, Holly Martinez, and Kole Green, along with twelve great-grandchildren who were the light of his life.
Daniel is also survived by his siblings Cynthia Hebert, Jacob Pinchera, and Claire Renfro, who will carry on his memory.
He is preceded in death by his cherished spouse Janice Marie Entrekin Pinchera, his son Daniel O'Connell III, and his parents Mary Leona Mooneyham and Daniel O'Connell P. SR. Their love and guidance shaped him into the man he became.
A Funeral Service will be held on December 26, 2025, at Forest Park Funeral Home in Shreveport, Louisiana. The visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by the Funeral Service at 12:00 PM, concluding with interment that same day at Forest Park Cemetery.
Daniel O'Connell Pinchera Jr. leaves behind a tapestry of memories woven with love, laughter, and the lessons of life he imparted to those fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of many.
