Crystal Fletcher

February 5, 1921 — January 4, 2018

Crystal Bennett King Fletcher, formerly of Lake O' the Pines and currently of Shreveport, died at 6:25 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018. Born February 5, 1921, in Simpson, Louisiana, she leaves three children: Judy King Langley Polhemus, Robert Allen King and his wife Jill Warner King, and Linda King Sexton. Special recognition and gratitude go to Jill, Crystal's caretaker for several years. Other descendants include four grandchildren: Angela Sexton Morehouse, Douglas Sexton, Tracy King, and Jeremy King. Eight great-grandchildren round out her immediate family: Chelsea King, Colby King, Carolina Robinson, Cadie Robinson, Vivian Morehouse, Sebastian Morehouse, Savannah King, and Raylan King. Her first husband, James Perry King, preceded her in death, as did her second husband, Robert Fletcher. His son and daughter-in-law, Edie and Diane Fletcher, remained close to Crystal until her death. Crystal worked at S&H Green Stamp Redemption Center for 20 years. After retiring, she became a fisherwoman and gardener. However, the love of her life was Jesus. She vigorously studied the Bible and taught Sunday School to adults and teens. When she retired again, she moved to Shreveport to be near family. She became deeply involved with her two great-granddaughters, Carolina and Cadie. A private service with family will be held to celebrate her life. Please make memorial donations to Wounded Warriors Project.
