Mom was born January 21, 1924 in Shreveport, LA to Richard and Wilma Wadsworth Forshee. She went home to be with the Lord on June 2, 2018. In addition to her parents, Mom was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Oliver E. Whatley; her son, Rev. Michael E. Whatley; her son-in-law, Skip Davis; grandson, Chad Davis and her two brothers, Buddy Forshee and Toby Forshee. Left to share her stories are her daughters, Lynn Davis, and Terri Dickerson; her son, Randy Whatley and his wife Rhonda; her daughter-in-law, Donni Whatley; and her sisters-in-law, Kathy Forshee and Betty Mulder. She is also survived by grandchildren, Shanna and Shawn Akers, Aimee and Jeff Houghton, Ryan and Jeannie Whatley, Todd and Shiloh Davis, Michelle Davis, Jordan and Carol Dickerson, Jared Dickerson, Rachel Dickerson, Rachel West and Sean West and 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. During WWII, Mom worked stateside while waiting for our Dad to return home from the Pacific. She was a conductor on the Desire Street Streetcar in New Orleans. After moving to California with her parents, she drove a Greyhound Bus from San Francisco to Mare Island, transporting servicemen to and from their base and the City. Family was everything to Mom. She loved family reunions when the "bunch" got together. She made sure everyone who came into her home felt welcome. How she loved to tell the stories of her life and how we all loved to listen to them, many times more than once. We'd like to thank the staff at Heritage Manor West for the loving care you provided to our mom. It would be hard to name everyone, but we have to thank Miss Ruby and Miss Tessie, you were there when we needed you most. We're going to miss you Momma, but we take great comfort in knowing we will see you again. We love you so much.
