Clifford Eichler

Clifford Lee Roy Eichler, 99 of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on November 29, 2017 after a long and fulfilling life. He was predeceased by his 6 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Forest Park Funeral Home located at 1201 Louisiana Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71101. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm following visitation. Reverend Alston Johnson of St. Marks Episcopal Church will be officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Forest Park Funeral Home. Cliff was born in Carmine, Texas on November 21, 1918. He graduated from Round Top - Carmine High School and continued to business school for one year. He was married to Lola Mae Tippen on October 22, 1941 before volunteering for the US Navy on May 30, 1942 where he served in the Navy during World War II until discharge on October 2, 1945. He was preceded in death by Lola. Cliff worked in a number of positions for Otis Elevator starting in 1947 in Houston, Texas before becoming Maintenance Supervisor in the Shreveport, Louisiana Office until retirement in 1984. He enjoyed an active family life and along with volunteer activities as a Master Mason and member of the El Karubah Shrine Legion of Honor and Purple Heart Organization. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Roberta, and his four children, Priscilla R. Pittman, Clifford L. Roy Eichler II, Judith A. Mills and Linda S. Eichler; 12 grand-children, 20 great- grand-children and 6 great- great-grand children.
