Clifford Lewis Cheramie

Clifford Lewis Cheramie was born on August 30, 1952, in Golden Meadow, Louisiana an departed this life on Friday, May 29, 2015, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was the second child of Emile Joseph Cheramie and Billie Jean Sandidge.He married Karla Annette Jennings on May 10, 1980, and they had two children: Candice Annette (born November 19, 1980) and Kayla Victoria (born August 10, 1987). Cliff was a Dear Friend to many and those who knew him best called him by his many nicknames: Tuba, Fo & Cliffy. He had many professions throughout his life. Most people knew him as a local cab driver around the Shreveport/Bossier area. Cliff also spent a couple of years as a semi-pro wrestler and his wrestling name was The Bayou King. He had many pastimes including: cooking, music and history. Cliff was proud of his South Louisiana roots and he was well known for his gumbo, barbeque and other southern cuisines. Among many of his talents, he enjoyed playing the harmonica, guitar, singing and telling jokes. He enjoyed many genres of music, but his favorites were Blues, Zydeco and Country. Cliff was also a BIG DALLAS COWBOYS FAN! He is preceded in death by his mother, father, grandparents, beloved Uncle W.D. and Aunt Mary Jo Foreman, one son-in-law Reggie Preston and long-time friend Richard ""Dickie"" Coker, and many others. Left to cherish his memory is his wife and friend of 36 years Karla, his two daughters all of Shreveport, LA; his brother Robert ""Bob"" Cheramie and wife Kathy of Kentwood, La; his sister, Cathy Gaetz and husband Jeff & their children of Bossier City, La; his favorite cousins: Denise ""Neicy"", Mark Friend, Debby & Daniel Graft & Danny ""Bubba"". Lifelong friends Tommy Coker, David Coker, James Huffty, Ray Dykes, Tommy Bruce, Mark & Michelle Johnson, Avery & Vicky Davis, and many other friends and family that he held dear to his heart. And last, but not least, his beloved dog CHOPPER. Special thanks to all of our family and friends for the love, support, and prayers during this very difficult time and we ask for continued prayer in the upcoming months. Also special thanks to DCI Dialysis and the entire staff at Christus Schumpert Health System including: The Cancer Center, Dr. Boniol, Dr. Ibrahim, and Dr. Kilpatrick, The Grace Home and Forest Park Funeral Home for taking such good care of our loved one. Visitation will be Friday, June 5, 2015 at Forest Park Funeral Home at 5:00 p.m. followed by Funeral Service at 6:00p.m.
